Use one of these cheap Mastech "smart tweezers" as a regular quick and dirty go to tool on testing capacitors/diodes/parts in place?
I mean for $22.00 its really a hard tool to beat, not that I trust its accuracy but for a general quick and dirty inspection it is my go to tool and I've gotten more than my moneys worth several times (especially repairing things that are surface mount)...
It occasionally gives me a little trouble maybe inconclusive at best but for a quick double check of components its worth the money...
