I have some really nice meters here that have stopped working that I am keen to repair if possible.  I'm wondering if anyone has any experience doing this.  Am I wasting my time ?

Oh, not the Pye ones??

I still haven’t got my Pye meter fixed since I posted about it in 2007 😕

Yes. one of them & a beautiful Ernest Turner VU, & about 4 brass dB meters that I bought some years ago to make vari mu compressors.  The Pye meter was broken by my deaf Basset Hound "Maurice" when he was a pup ...

Take them to these guys. Meters are tricky, better be safe than sorry!

Thanks for the tip, but having looked at the site, the company seems to be more to do with industrial power monitoring with digital meters & they appear not to repair vintage moving coil meters,  so maybe not ......

Good idea & it jogged my memory about a place that I saw on tv that restores instruments for vintage cars that's fairly local.

Thanks Jakob
