Anyone know anything about the Telefunken ELA M46?

On the box it says chamber microphone (in German). Its a long rectangular shaped mic with the sound entering down one side through an opening about 4" long.

Unfortunately I don`t have any pictures at the moment.

Kammermikrofon?

An early type of shotgun mic for location film work, perhaps?

Just a guess. I'm no authority in this subject.

Oh, kammer == chamber. I was thinking "camera" for some reason. It still looks like it could be a precursor to a shotgun mic, though.
