Anyone know anything about the Telefunken ELA M46?

On the box it says chamber microphone (in German). Its a long rectangular shaped mic with the sound entering down one side through an opening about 4" long.

Unfortunately I don`t have any pictures at the moment.

I thought I'd seen one of those before..

...in german

kohlenmicrofon.... carbon microphone?

Babelfish gives us

"   Telefunken multi-chamber coal microphone 20's. Through line up several coal chambers tries the quality of the transmission to improve. One partly called these developments to distinguish itself possibly in order from the normal coal microphones also Questrommikrofone"

but I'm sure some of our german speaking members can give a better translation.

Have you got one, Rob?
