API 550 filter button caps

Hi all,

Anybody know how those little white button caps are supposed to go on? I've used about as much force as I dare. There are two small channels on the underside of the cap and a plastic thingy on the end of the switch that I think are supposed to mate but I can't figure it out. Anyone?

10 minutes later - I looked at it some more and I don't see any way this cap could fit on this switch, so I'm wondering if they changed the switches at some point and I have a wrong cap.

check the size of the shaft. they may be using smaller ones now. I got screwed like that myself not too long ago.

That's it - the shaft looks larger than the hole in the button.
