API existential questions

Who am I ?
Where I go ?
Do you know how to use an API 312 ?
I read about 19" Rack Mounting for 312 cards, but where were the controls ?
Is there a module in API history which use API 312 card (212, 512, 912) ?

Cause I love the idea to make an API clone but it would be greater to clone all the stuff : 48v, pad, knobs, front plate and lunchbox why not ?
I think I can get a modern 512 for a week-end to open it take photo and understand, but I would like to know before if there is a 312 inside or if it is completely different module.

the original 312 amplifiers were just the circuit and transformer mounted on a card with the traces terminating that the edge which plugged into the rear of the console. They plugged into a mating connector which in turn were wired to the controls on the front panel of the console. If you find an original 312, it would be just the card, no controls, etc.

nothing to be bummed about, adding the control to the card is very easy if you want it to be, everyone here can help you.
