This came from a friend.

He was recording guitars the other night.
He was using a DI
Guitar player, every time he touched the guitar or tried to play there would be pops and clicks.
Every time everyone else tried the same set up no pops and clicks.
Swapped cables, tried going direct to the amp, swapped cables but the outcome was always the same, with the guitar player pops and clicks. With everyone else there was no pops and clicks.
While I have no answer and anything they tried didn’t resolve the anomaly .

Guitar player is an average person, no pace maker, no prosthetic limbs. Just your average fellow.

So this is peculiar.

Tele pick guards are notorious for static pops when playing and touching. Use a dryer softener sheet and wipe down the pick guard and it should stop popping for a while. I alway keep one in my tele guitar case.
