Gents,

I finished a pair of BA-31A clones and was curious if an attenuation tweak PRR detailed for the BA-31C's would work similarly in the 31A.

PRR said in 2008 on a breakdown of the 31C -

"Change R7 to 2K. Change R4 to 100R. Strap a 0-2K rheostat (2.5K reverse-audio pot) across terminals 46. This gives almost 20dB range of gain, both up and down from the stock gain. Keep pot-leads short. twisted, not shielded."

Here's where he's referencing on the 31C at '46':

and Here's the similar 31A area at '40':

Using a different value pot an resistors, would this work??  Many thanks to EMRR and PRR for their knowledge they have shared.

Thanks, Nathan

the drawings are made differently, which is at first confusing.  I believe you apply PRR's concept across R5 of the BA-31A, which your cropped drawing does not show.  The feedback methods are different in the two amps in the first place; the B/C versions vary shunt to ground, the A version parallels sections to increase feedback quantity.
