The whole "part searching" is a huge pita for me right now, too many projects in parallel. now I can't source a lm7824 at Farnell or RS. let's see what else is out there... anything else I need to pay attention for when switching to higher-voltage relays?

Try uA7824. Your local electronic shop will most probably stock them. Reichelt.de sell these for 0.18 EUR.

hello,
i'm building 4 Fabio's 312 preamp and i gonna use 2 melcore, 2 2520 opamps on it, and AROMAT TQ2-5V relais,

i 'd like to feed all these 4 units with one fabio PSU,
i saw your posts but it's a little bit complicated understanding everything for me!

i use all components of the 312 PSU v1 bom
(C1, C2, C3, C4 = 2200uF 35V)
i have a 2X18v 50VA transfo
all my resistors are 0,25W exept  R10 and R1 R2
i gonna put a 5W 10R for R10 and 5W 470R for R1 and R2 and 1K 0,5w for R11,
i gonna put heatsinks on regulators

what are you thinking about that? could it works?
do i need to do the mod : "connect R10 to the R1/C1"

all my resistors are 0,25W exept  R10 and R1 R2

R8 needs a 0.266W rating [(48V-1.25V)^2/8200)], use a 1/2 W part.
(edit: put a 1k trimmer or 768 ohm in series to this 8k2 to get closer to 48v if needed. Without you'll only get 43.95V on paper)
R9 needs a maybe 0.415W rating [(48V-Uled, maybe 2V for red)^2/5100)], use at least a 1/2 W part.

yes for less heat and a more solid +48V rail.

my psu was working well,
i was doing some test on my preamps regarding zobel etc...
but yesterday i just changed leds on the psu and since, every time i plug a preamp on it the - rail led lights down and R2 burns ???
but when there isn't preamp on it i have -18 v :-\
what can i check to fix the problem?

PS: i just forget to say that the first time i re-plug the power transformer i did a mistake : i sent 0 v to + and - and the two 18v to ground....

hey,

putting together a 2-channel ez1290. I have a question about the phantom, im using a bauman psu.


currently my lm337 is giving out WAAAY more thatn 48. I hooked up a trimmer in series with R8. not working. I may have put the trimmer wrong, i have to check that, BUT...


could I use a lm317 instead of 337? I think greg did that on his hotrod build.

I'm pretty sure most people use the 317 for phantom... 

(LM337 is a negative reg...)
