Hi Guys,

Sorry to bother you with these silly things, but I have the above mentioned compressor modules from a vintage Beag FIT - ICM mixing console.

I'd like to use it externally, without the desk ... heh, I have only these two modules, nothing else.

The problem is that there must be some sort grounding issue, or, worst case scenario, these are simply not working!

This is the schematic of the first board :

The schematic of the second board :

On the back, there are two large format connectors, this is the pinout (it is in russian, but I have the translation for it) :

DC 1
a-1 - -
a-2 output 0V
a-3 output
a-4 silent 0V

b-1 - -
b-2 - -
b-3 - -
b-4 - -

DC 2
a-1 input a
a-2 input b
a-3 busbar reg. eg.
a-4 - -

b-1 -15V
b-2 chassis
b-3 0V
b-4 +15V

Power is OK, I have a bipolar PSU, so I've hooked it up, -15V to -15V, positive to positive and ground (COM) to 0V

The problem starts with the input and output.
Can't wire them up.
Have any of you managed to rack these?

I'm not clear on what "can't wire them up" means.  But I would try unbalanced in and out with input + to pin [DC2 a-1] and output + from [DC1 a-3].  Tie all the 0v, chassis, common, etc. together with the shields of your in and out cables and see if you get signal.

Thanks for the tips, I went in the suggested way.
Signal gets through, I can hear it, but, it is weird for sure.
Leds are blinking, but non of the pots do anything...besides the "main gain" control...if it is at 0dB, I can hear the signal, if I crank it up, I start hearing some really weird DC like noise.
I'm afraid that the VCA chips are gone in these units...

Tried the hook-up, now it passes audio through. But...
Da*n, that sounds awful!

I've made a quick recording :

What the hell is going on here?
(Both of the units I have doing the same thing...)
