Hi All,

I got off Amazon a Behringer B-2 Pro Multi pattern Dual Large-diaphragm condenser microphone and upon hooking it up it was noisy.

It's supposedly still under warranty, and I contacted Behringer. Opened this ticket, and it's rep in Canada won't honour the warranty because the seller is not an authorized dealer. Returning it to the seller via Amazon is not worth my shipping fees. Aside from their dysfunctional RMA Process.

Returning it to the seller via Amazon is not worth my shipping fees. So I decided to open it up and see if I can fix it myself.

Upon opening it I see a loose wire inside.

See attached photos

I'm trying to find schematics for this particular model, to no avail. Internal Board Pictures on the internet from B-2 Pro also seem to differ from this model. It appears that there are many revisions of this B-2 Pro, and can't find this one. Judging from the new Behringer logo on the casing, I assume it's the latest revision.

Regardless...

Question: Where do I have to solder this wire?

Thank you.

I have an older revision of the B-2 , was all discrete through hole components , the case was signifigantly different also , the new one looks a lot more cheap and nasty .

It seems like a clean, well-built microphone, to me. I have two of the old B2-Pros and two of the regular B-2s. The old side rails seem to corrode easily, so the solid body frame is better, at least.

That looks like one of the two capsule wires, so it likely needs to be attached to one of the insulated turrets extending down from the switch PCB above. On the old versions I have, the rear capsule would be the last of the four turrets on the right.

Thanks a million LevinGuitar.

doqmemory, thank you for your precise indications. I will do that this week!

I wish Behringer and their rep (Music Tribe) were so helpful. For such a simple thing, they did everything they could to make my life miserable. This forum was my last resort, else I would have trashed this brand new microphone, which is still under warranty. Just the estimate to repair it at a private shop was $150.

Thanks a million.

The 5th picture on that web site shows the wire positions better. Good luck!
