Brass instruments into Mic bodies

Hi,

I have some old trumpets and tubas which I'm thinking I will make some mic bodies out of, U67 style.
All brass, seems a shame that these instruments were just going to be thrown out.
Was going to take a few pictures of the journey.

I've just bought a lathe, so this should help in getting things a bit more professional and consistent!!!
I got a Tuba, French horn and a couple of Trumpets which look like i should be able to get a few bodies out of!!!
This could be quite a big fail!!! but what the heck, in for penny, in for a pound!!

hi,

have sized up the brass now and ready to braise at new size, will then cut each end and prep for headbasket and base.
this is not the head basket in the picture, im using the ring from it for size. 63mm top 54mm bottom.
