Anyone have a solution for a simple brush on solder mask?

I have some microphone PCBs without a solder mask. I'd like something simple to protect the traces that I could easily brush on, ideally after or something that I can be precise with to not cover the solder pads.

Back in the 70s as a junior technician I used some Dykem steel blue layout fluid to paint traces on some copper clad PCB stock to make a crude pattern of traces. The blue ink is typically used by machinists so they can scribe targets on pieces of steel, for drilling holes and the like. I used the ink to generate a pattern of PCB traces to etch a quick and dirty PCB. The ferric chloride etchant ignored the ink and gave me a workable PCB.
