Hi,

I'm going to buy a pc oscilloscope Picoscope 2205A 25mhz  or a DSO type TENMA  25mhz,

maybe the picoscope is  a bit more flexible... more measures it can take....for my analog circuits maybe is enough?

Thanks for your comments!

Olde School here with my green screen Tek...

I keep looking at the specs on the new flat screen/LCD scopes and seeing only 8 bit vertical resolution.  I can't imagine that being Good Enough....stair steps as I look closely for aberrations when using a square wave test signal and a 60 MHz scope.

IMHO nothing can beat a 'good old' analog oscilloscope!
(I own a PC oriented 'oscilloscope', I think I used it twice from the moment I bought it... I am always using my analog Philips PM3207)

My tektronrix tas475 has been fantastic for years and years

*four channels* is where it's at!

That and 'cursors' for easy measurement of divisions - great for a sight-challenged gent like myself  :)

I believe it was around the end of the analog scope era  ..  digi control, analog waveformery .. on thee cheap (far east man)

Works great on a budget.

Might I recommend a rigol? They can be run from a PC too.
I recommend it too, maybe not as fast than analog scopes but lightweight (2.5 kg), takes much less space, consumes less power

Hi,

What i am looking for is to mak. Analog measures, bandwidth, crosstalk, etc...the picoscope does all of this, dispite at high frequencies (mhz), is not much reliable...
But i just need measures up to 200khz...the Dso types...not as much functions as picoscope...
But i will see suggestions made here.

Jay,

I found the refresh rate not to be fast enough with the USB scope I had. Granted, things may be better.
Also, the ground noise from the PC was a pain in audio circuits.

Hi Rochey,

Good point... ground noise in picoscope is higher than from my psu.  My psu noise is 20 micro volts..

The Rigol is interesting... around 300 euros... Rigol DS1052E  or PROMAX OD603... but none has functions to measure badwith or crosstalk....

I have a Rigol at home, and have used both the same Rigol and a Picoscope at work, and both were ok.  I found the picoscope much better for FFT type things.  I've never managed to get a good THD type 1k+harmonics display on the Rigol, though it might be possible with more fiddling.
