i've got an old spring reverb that has a buzz that doesn't seem to be electrical- i've tried all the possible tip/ring/sleeve combos, lifts, etc.
the buzz changes volume as i move the unit around the room and rotate it- like a single coil pickup. is there a solution for me besides finding the quiet spot and leaving it there? i'm sure that'll be right in the middle of the room...
thanks very much,
david lawrence
sounds like you need to put it as far from flourescent lights and CRT TV's/monitors as possible.
I'll second that...

Give us more detail. By "old spring reverb", do you mean a complete unit, or do you mean an old spring tank you found and hooked up to your own amplifiers?

Spring tanks are made with a number of different input and output grounding arrangements, not to mention transducer impedances. You can't just hook up any ol' tank to any ol' set of amplifiers and have it work right.
