I have assembled some of the codes/letters/colours that appear on (European) capacitors in a document. Perhaps it's usefull for others also.

Some of them are old or not very common, but the two-character date code and the single-letter tolerance code is widely used. The date codes are sometimes used on ICs also.

I have seen these codes on many different brands including Ero, Wima, Koweg/Electel, Philips, Arcotronics and Frolyt.
(You're sure about the fifth 'voltage-band' ? Brown or Green ?
Brown would indeed make more sense: 100 V, but another Philips-chart I have mentions green as well)
I was sure I had some 100V caps, but I can't find any. I just had a look in the '69 Pocketbook, and it only mentions 250V, 400V and 630V. Is it possible that 100V wasn't actually made?

Brown would make more sense than green though - this being the only colour-based code that makes any sense

Where did you find the green-code listed?

Hi Mikkel,

Fully agreed, brown for 100 would make the most sense. But if the Philips-charts I have are correct (see the scan of one of them in the link above) then it'd be green for 100V

Maybe brown wasn't used 'at the side' of the cap to prevent that it would be harder to distinguish(sp?) from the underlying body material ?

Bye,

Peter

I have fixed the file now (same filename).
