Caps in series regardless of polarity still divide right?

I'm having a dumb moment...
Polarized caps in series like so ---||+-- ---||+-- divides capacitance because the plates are farther apart (like resistors in parallel).

Do polarized caps wired in series like this --+||--- ---||+-- to create a nonpolar cap still divide capacitance the same way?
[Ct=1/(1/C1)+(1/C2)]

It seems that that would make sense, just making sure...
 
What happens with voltage in the caps when you wire in series? Is it just toe voltage of the lower rated cap?
