I'm thinking about building another pair of 1073 pres, and I'm curious if anyone has had a chance to compare the usual Carnhill transformers and inductors to the UTM equivalents. The UTMs are a bit cheaper, so it would be nice if they sound just as good (and have the same footprints).

On the paper looks close, but difference is very audible , Carnhill is tinner than original Marinair, you can easily hear they lack low end, expecialy Utm miss deep. Also utm don't have distortion similar Original Lo1166.If you choose between Utm and Carnhils,vtb9049 is winner.
