I built an 1176 and am using it's 30V to power a DIY Neve in the same box. I'm about to wire the 48V Phantom power and realized that if I connect the 48VDC full wave bridge's ground to the full wave (not bridge) power supply center tap i.e. main ground in the 1176 I'm shorting half of the power to ground and now only have 24V phantom and a hot transformer obviously. I'm assuming there's no easy way around this other than using only one 24VAC tap off of the V-CT-V transformer then building a doubler. Is this correct? In other words I won't be able to take advantage of the real 48VAC available from the transformer. Making sure I'm not overlooking something simple (which has happened before).
