Anyone down under tried 'em?

Peter

we did a group buy for these maybe a year ago.  I got a few, they are plastic but decent, I think we paid about 0.40 USD each. BUT, like the ones in the link you posted, they are splined shaft.  In the group buy we got them to send us inserts (factory would not install them) but I don't know if anyone successfully implemented them.  My plan is to fill them with epoxy and bore them out to 1/4" then drill and tap a hole for a set screw.

I modified mine without having to use epoxy, i drilled the spline out to 1/4", then carefully drilled a hole in the side for the grub screw, a hex nut nicely wedges in the the space between the outer skin and the inner section, I trashed one or two in my eagerness, but all in all, they look pretty good and extremely happy considering the price paid

Hi.

I also got one of thouse from here http://www.don-audio.com/Red-Marconi-style-knob-skirted
I bought the mod kit also but I didnt need to drill any holes.
Basically I over drilled the knob hole and then just pushed to knob on the shaft and done. I was unable make the knob slide on the shaft.

The capi ones look pretty good but are even more money
I dislike the starting from price is the larger quantity so the single
price gets even more disappointing

...If these guys will ship to the USA, I'd like to buy a few.

I'm just building some preamps which have splined shafts, and the red Marconi style knobs would make it look SWEET!

Does anyone know if they ship? Or -failing that- if anyone is buying some and wouldn't mind getting a half-dozen extras and shipping them to me, I'd be glad to cover all costs.

Now there's a nice markup!  ::)

I actually just realized how damn expensive they were.

Just wait until you see how much the ones from the original Marconi mold will cost !... double that add add some more.

Sorry again...  ::)

You can both have some of mine for free if you pay shipping, but shipping from here is worse than australia... I recently sent a DBX VCA to france, and it cost about $25 USD... that's normal postal shipping, not express or anything! Makes things a bit difficult sometimes..

Peter, Keith

The parcels are on it's way. Par Avion. I hope Russian Post will do it's job well (alas, sometimes they're slow, sorry).

Thank you foryour orders.

PS: Sorry to admin for commerce...

I would like a couple to experiment with anyone in Canada ?
And yeah our post has gone way up where certain things are not worth selling / mailing,

Our Government is moving to stop home mail delivery and move to " community " mailboxes,
banks of them at street corners or larger locations.  Citing decrease in actual mail that this will allow Canada post to
become self sufficient . Can't help thinking businesses will be able to get more ebilling and save money and the online
business will drop, none of this works for me.

Real Marconi knobs are remarkably expensive.... we now stock them;

Just got the elmas in from Classic API for a couple of ez1290 builds. Really frickn nice. I mean aluminum over plastic is an obvious no-brainer. The plastic ones from oz are working out great for my console in the quantity over quality department though.
