I wanted to build up a set of reference microphones. Here is the first one. This is a recreation of a CMV-563 to be used with an original M7 bayonet capsule. The first picture shows the complete mike with power supply next to a TLM-103.

The second shows the interior front and the third the interior back.

No testing has been done with musical recording but vocal performance is impressive. The capsule was built in approximately 1940 for VEB and appears to have the original PVC membrane.

The body is made of aluminum. Not sure why it appears blue or purple.

Thanks, I was trying to stay with the traditional look.

Here is the schematic. It's close to the original except with a larger output coupling capacitor (1uf instead of 0.5uf). The power supply is the Alctron/Apex/Shiny Box unit. Of course, the pattern control doesn't do anything.
