is anybody using this compressor? i have a revision without the jumper for setting the sidechain pad
so i will need to use the sidechain cable with pad

http://www.akzent-audio.de/Hersteller/S-Z/SonicWorld/Adapterkabel/354-SonicWorld-DB15-Custom-Sidechain-Kabel-mit-PAD-fuer-Crane-Song-STC8

i really don't want to spend 100 bucks on this cable so maybe somebody can tell me how to do this on my own

Piece of cake, with all new parts, shouldn't cost more than $20us....... just gotta figure out the pinout

The one tip I have is to make sure that your dsub shield has a nice fat opening at the back, to get those four cables in... pretty obvious, but
easily overlooked

cheers

I don't know if the pinout is mentioned in the manual or not, but I have found that cranesong are rather helpful via email.

I inquired about reducing the cut/boost on my Ibis to +/-6dB and they forwarded me the schematic for the DB15 pad that goes in the back, and offered to knock me one up for $60 if I couldn't do it myself.

Drop cranesong an email and ask. They seem quite forward in helping customers out in whatever capacity.

this is from the manual:

*bump*

i want to add the possibility of a switchable lowcut filter to my compressor...maybe just a simple box with xlr ins and outs
i need the impedance of the sidechain loop inputs to calculate the right resistor values or am i mistaking?
