Crest Century VX - Source for faders

Hello,

I have a crest century vx that has needs the following faders:

XR RIGHT module: 10KA 100mm
VX INPUT module: B100K 100mm

Does anyone know a source for these? Crest sent me to Audio Services in NY but have not received a reply.

I doubt they are anything special. Have you checked for any marking, for example are they alps(brand) or P&G(other major brand) faders?


10Ka = 10K audio taper or Log(in U.S )
B100K = 100K linear (in u.s.)

A&B Reverse what kind they are in europe for some reason that I am sure someone else can explain.

Not sure what you mean by right module but those are the values. I suspect you can put in some 100mm faders from "name a brand here" and be o.k. unless you need stereo faders or something else.

As for where to purchase oem faders, try digikey, mouser or newark electronics.

Over the years several popular widely used faders have been discontinued. I am not familiar with under the hood of the Century but if the 100mm faders are wired and not directly soldered to a PCB there should be more options available to source similar replacement parts. Crest service should be your best source of information.

Attached is a picture of a fader. No other marking besides the resistance. No luck at digikey, mouser, newark, etc so far.

I have 4 or 5 of them. They came from another crest console, pretty sure they are the same, I will get them out to make sure. But how many do you need?

I need at least one 10KA for the right master and one 100KB for a channel. Let me know how many you have of each value, I may be interested in getting some backups.

Hi Jim,
All the ones I have are 10K audio taper. They come from Crest Audio GTX. I cut off the EQs and Pres (sound really nice btw) and have left some pots leds switches, opamps etc,... they are doing no good for me just sitting here, and maybe they could be better use for you.
I have 4 that I could find, and 2 are missing the fader knob. I'll let them go cheap!! I'll PM you
