I have Crown CE2000a on the bench. It has an odd problem: When I use a balanced input, it's nice and quiet, however, as soon as I jumper pin 3 to pin 1 on the xlr, I get what sounds like 120Hz power supply hum
on the output of the amp.
It's not external noise, as I can just put a jumper across the pins within the XLR shell, and the problem occurs.
I checked the grounds and resistors between chassis and signal ground; everything checks out.
Anyone have experience with these amps?
