Hi guys,
I'm trying to fix a problem I'm having with my Monitor ST.
Something weird is happening with the rotary encoder that controls the volume (signal attenuation relais)
In fact, sometimes when turning it on from -inf to the first step I can hear the relais misbehaving, but what's really bad is that when this happens with signal present, a full blast goes through the speakers for a very short amount of time  (I still can't believe how my old ns-10s didn't blow)

I opened up the remote to look for the rotary part number but I didn't find any information on the part itself.
I tried to do a research looking at images, but I didn't find anything close enough..

Does anyone know something about it ?
Any help is really appreciated !
Thanks in advance.

It looks to me that you have problem with dirty/oxidized attenuator relay's contacts, not with the rotary encoder.

I also need to change the rotary encoder on a monitor ST. I have asked Dangerous music but unfortunately haven't received a reply.
If anyone knows the part number, please share.

Thank you for your reply but I don't think so.
It happens while I turn the volume encoder the first 2-3 times, than it goes away.
Probably is wearing due to using it pretty much always from the -inf to the first 2-3 steps.
