Does anyone know where I can get a simple PCB that accepts a PCB mounting DB25 connector and wires it up, to the Tascam standard, to a bunch of summing resistors bringing the result out to a couple of pads or a terminal block. Select switches, mono inputs or pan pots are not needed.  I searched around the group and found various projects but nothing this simple.

Cheers

Holger made this exact PCB. Pics here:

I pmd him awhile ago and he said he might do a small run...
I'm interested in a few.

Hi Ian,

This might also be of interest: http://www.groupdiy.com/index.php?topic=29082.0

Cheers,
Dan

[edit: Ah, sorry, that's not actually wired according to the Tascam format unfortunately]

Shame on me... If there are some people interested in this I could do a new run, maybe redesigning it a bit.
We should move this to the BM.

I would be in for at least 8. By all means take this to the BM

Holger tells me he has too much work on to spend time on this PCB so.... here is version 1 of my very simple db25 summing PCB. It is 50mm by 60mm and takes a single db25 right angle PCB mounting connector. There's just 16 resistors and four terminal blocks. The idea is you can mount them in a row and just daisy chain them together. I have labelled the buses Odd and Even rather than left and right to reflect the channel numbering of the Tascam pin out.

I shall make a bunch for myself. If anyone else is interested let me know.

Here is the V2 summer PCB layout. I have added positions for the shunt resistors and a 0.1inch pitch SIL as suggested by Holger so it can also be used as a db25 interface card. Lastly I corrected the completely erroneous tracking to the db25 connector.

was looking for something like this ;)
Would love to pick up a few boards if you make them

I don't know how many I am going to get made yet. I need five right now so I'll probably get at least ten for myself. I guess the cost is going to be around 5GBP each.

Holger's version of this PCB finally arrived despite postal strikes in both Germany and the UK. As a result I will be making a few tweaks to my design which I will post here before having some made.

Edit: Version three attached. I have made a few small changes after seeing Holger's version - mainly the addition of a ground plane over part of the PCB. Other than that I think that is it. If I don't receive any comments I'll send it out for manufacture at the end of next week.

Cheers

Ian
