Digital to Analog Converter DIY

Hello there

I am looking for a project to build a good quality simple USB DIGITAL to ANALOG CONVERTER BOX with ANALOG Outputs -

Basically to listen to AUDIO from MAC Computer into my MCI Board - right now I have just the little headphone out connected and it doesn't sound very good....

Is there a very basic box one can build to convert either the SPDF or the USB from Mac to Left-Right ANALOG XLR....

Check the MiniDSP USB streamer.
This provides the USB Audio Class 2.0 interfacing to I2S.

There's a lot of stuff like that from chinese dealers on ebay, ranging from maybe 50 to some hundred €. I have not tested any of these, but the pcbs look decent - so it might be worth a try.
