ditressor memory cap

Has anyone out there replaced the memory cap in a distressor ? I need to do this for a client & need the spec of the replacement part. Before anyone says send it back to EL, the unit is in the UK & so shipping would make this very expensive.

Cap as in capacitor? If it's for memory backup, i'd expect it to be one of those "supercapacitors" (aka double-layer capacitors).

I'd expect the value to be anywhere between 0.1-1F (yes, farads), and 5.5V is pretty standard. Your biggest headache may well be finding one in the suitable package type.

Popping the lid and taking a peek is not an option?

Hi Rob,
I replaced 2 of them over the years in the previous studio I worked in.
At the time I contacted EL and they sent some caps for free.
So you should contact them

I think I still have a spare one somewhere.

Yes, its one of those supercaps, I dont remember the value
