How do those switches work for selecting L/R or M/S?
Is it a bypass switch (like on/off) or selector for L/M (and R/S on other switch)?
I guess it's L/R vs M/S but labeling "EQ In" confuses me.

It's just a bypass , in L/R mode bypass L/R, in M/S mode bypass M/S ;-)

It took me a lot of time to locate the LR/MS switch. I didn't spot it previously. It's hidden!

In total you can spend from 950€ to 1750€ if using botique parts like Elma rotary switches (KIT is included in calculation)
