Just add magnets to creat off center magnetic field. Is like 6 bucks and some super glue. Works great. Enjoy.

I don't. When I have to take it apart again, I'll take some.

Basically, one matches the polarity of the magnets already in place and adds the additional magnets to them, extending the field of pickup.

Obviously,, this this a diy type of project and is for personal learning/ experimenting use and not for commercial use.

What was the China mic you performed that mod?

Potentially higher output / more sensitive. Output xformer determines the actual output and tone.

Tonal options are increased. Is like having 2 mics in one.

What's the benefit? Higher output? Different tone?

If the mod member Reribbon is describing will make the ribbon of center from the magnets then the tone will be different from one side of the mic to the other, one side will be brighter than the other.

That technic was used by Crowley and Tripps in their mics (now sold by Shure)
