I already reccaped the unit with Elna Silmic II. Need to align according to the manual and you need an extender card for that. A good first step would be to get the card edge connector. Has code 6P57611AH32 7014 on it but googling does not help. It is a 32 pin connector, distance from pin to pin is a little more than 5mm. Each pin is roughly 3mm wide.

Maybe one of you guys has a card or one of these connectors?

A few more pics for the adventurous.

Thanks for the input. However, the contact width does not match, plus it is staggered grid so it is smaller, so the max total length is 4.8 inches. In the A301 the card goes close to 6.5 inches.

Any other suggestion is appreciated.

I looked at the pix....it seems that the card has gold plated "fingers" on the circuit board, like many items from that same era. There were many different spacings for the fingers and the required matching female connector.

One way I use to try and suss out the dimensions for these is to count 10 "fingers" and take a measurement from center to center (or from one edge on "contact 1" to the same edge of "contact 10") and then divide by 10 to determine the contact spacing with better accuracy.

Common finger spacings were 0.1", 0.125", 0.150" and 0.156".

Hope that makes sense.....

Thanks, Bryan.

If we count 15 contacts, then it is 3 inches. It is 0.2" pitch.

Width of each contact is 1/8"

Spacing between each contact and the next one is 1/16"

Still haven't managed to find the connector on regular web searches.

Not really relevent to this thread ,but I said i'd post it up anyway ,
makes each band switchable and adjustable a bit like the cat43 single ended NR system .
Fitting the pots and switches on the cat22 front panel would be a challenge but just about do-able with miniature components .

Also looking to make an alignement extender for this unit - hung up on the same problem of no .2" pitch connectors available! I've contemplated using a .1" pitch connector and removing every other pin....

Any suggestions would be helpful.

IIRC, that's what they were. Half-populated 0.1" pitch. An empty space was often used for a coding pin.

Any chance you are in Los Angeles? Every card connector I've ever needed but couldn't find was in this place. They even had a display with each style wired to a peice of plywood, about 10 feet in the air on an aisle endcap. This was 15 years ago, but it doesn't look like it has changed much.

Hey all, the .1" pitch EDAC connector I got from Mouser luckily works perfectly (Thanks abbeyroaddenfer for the reassurance!)

Since I had a client who was interested in getting his 100% working to spec, I made a custom circuit board design and put in an order for the alignment extender. It uses a ribbon cable to connect from the main extender board to the circuit module under test. The main grayhill switch had to be a 4-stack (8-pole/6-throw) so there were an extra two poles... I used one to control an indicator LED so you know what mode the board is in without needing an expensive faceplate.

If anyone is interested, I'll have four extra boards which will likely be up for sale to recoup development costs. I could also order more down the line if there's any interest, which I sort of doubt!
