hi
can someone please confirm for me if these NTE transistors will
do to replace the driver transistors on a OTARI MTR-90MKIII
these are what are installed now

Q1  C3421    >    Q2  D970K
        NTE373                    NTE2343

Q8  A1358      >    Q9  B791K
        NTE374                      NTE2344

thanks for any help offered
lance

should i supply datasheets?

yes
NTE actually has a very nice app
all the replacements volts/amps/watts are on spec or higher, its the gain
figures that have me baffled, because nothing matches the old transistors
just can't mess this up

the circuit is 40V in and 40V out  --  does that mean no gain in the circuit?

after these drivers they are using 10 x 250 watt power transistors to boost
the current (i think) to drive the two reel motors and the capstan motor

it looks like a DC coupled high power audio amp
looks like one of the early crown or hafler amps
