Electrect: in series to the capsule, capacitor or not?

Dear all

building a microphone with electrect (without internal fet) capsule, is it required to put in series to the capsule a Condenser or not?
I mean having as input stage a FET whicvh gate is grounded by a 1 or 2 G resistor.

No, you don't need a capacitor in series with the electret capsule.
(Did the same thing before!)

Indeed on my mic I didn't put the capacitor, however i was seriosuly doubting about it. I thought that perhaps it was my mistake.
