Ernest Turner 500uA meter for VU?

Hey guys,

I just finished my first V72 rack, and i have a few of these tiny Ernest Turner 500uA meters. (identical in size to the ones in EMI TG era consoles) Model 701's.

I would like to one on the front panel as an output VU.

I am an absolute newbie, but from what i've been reading, this meter might be a bit high (500uA) to use for VU?

Wondering if it's possible to build a simple circuit to make this guy somewhat functional?

I'm not sure what specs or schematics i can post to help,

Any info appreciated!
