Does anyone know where to get extender caps for pushbutton switches? This allows the switch to be mounted further in on the PCB. I have searched but can't find anything. SSL uses them, I've attached a pic.

So where do you buy these, or are there other options to accomplish the same thing?

Companies have their own plastic parts for this kind of thing, look at old scopes, they have switches and pots going all the way back from the front panel,  power switch usually mounted on the back panel but operated from the front panel.

You could probably use two conventional caps, a threaded hole and a threaded bar. Or a plastic rod glued to the switch and a cap. If you look as I said to old scopes you may find some very clever ideas.

A cheap trick I've seen used is to connect a rigid whatever between the switch and button with shrink tubing. Not sure what lifetime is like, so i wouldn't do this in production, but i have seen others do it, and get away with it for years, or long enough to tool something up.

Ok we are in 2023 and i can not find something like this. Have somebody 3d file for 3d printing? I can order 100 peace's.
I search for round one transparent as at this picture. Thanks in advance

If you can measure and come up with relatively -- EXACT -- dimensions for the X/Y/Z axis of this part you are looking for, I can create a 3D CAD-model and file for you. You can even use the 3D CAD-file to have it printed using a 3D-printer. And.....should you not have access to a 3D-printer, I can either provide you with some vendors who do -- prototype/low-volume -- 3D-printing or I could see if a friend of mine who has a 3D-printing company would be interested in producing this item for you. How many do you need???

NOTE: Since I don't know what you know, this is what I mean:

X = Width (In this case: X = 0.40" - Front and 0.80" - Back)

Y = Height (In this case: Y = 0.40" overall)

Z = Depth (In this case: Z = 1.50" Front-to-Back overall)

The below images are just to give you an idea of what I can provide for you. All I need are a bunch of
-- EXACT -- detailed dimensions of what it is that you are looking for!!!
Do you either have or -- have access to -- a "digital caliper" to use in order
to obtain the needed dimensions, preferably down to 3-decimal places
(i.e., 0.000")!!!

>> The cavity seen on the left-side is for the mating switch actuator to fit into. Don't forget to include all of those dimensions as well, OK???

>> This merely shows the dimensions that I threw into the above CAD-model
just to create -- something -- to show you. All that you need to do is to come
up with -- ACTUAL -- dimensions of what it is that you need!!! It doesn't matter
what the dimensions are, just as long as you -- COMPLETELY -- document
** EVERYTHING ** about this as you need for it to be, OK??? And, by the way,
I made this 3D CAD-model to be 0.40" thick (deep).

Yes, off the shelf is unlikely to exist, since the length and angle(s) (if any) of diversion are dependent on the particular PCB layout.

Very many rack mount devices from the eighties used these rods. Yamaha SPXs, etc. There’s probably a graveyard of them somewhere.

Below are shown the dimensions from a similar type of PCB-mounted push-button switch:

And.....here's a photo of a switch that looks very similar to the one in your photo:

SO!!!.....based upon the above switch, the little "Extender Rod" shown below is.....
0.30" Square X 1.50" Long (Deep) and has a 0.112" Square X 0.100" Deep recessed rear-cavity to slip over the switch actuator:

Again.....all that I need are your -- ACTUAL -- dimensions for me to create what you need. That's about it!!!
