The LED should not be connected in the way shown - it is fed only from XLR pin 3 and one 6K8 resistor, unbalancing the line.Also when the left hand switch is operated (to mute the audio?) XLR pins 2 + 3 are shorted - so the LED will glow brighter, as it is now fed from both 6K8 resistors.Can you clarify what the terminals 2 - 6 connect to? (A transformer perhaps?).
