Hi all,

I've not posted in a while, and true to form I'm going to ask a question that I almost know won't be able to be answered. That said, here goes.

I have a board that I know I need to replace a fried resistor. Problem is I don't know the value. I called the manufacturer with less than desirable results. I also know that some other stuff may be fried, but first things first.

Now to the question.....

Is there a way to make an educated guess as to the value that I should try? Can I look at the voltages necessary down circuit to make these guesses?

Thanks in advance for any response.

Love Denny

What piece of gear is it? You may have luck finding schematics from somebody here if they know what the gear is. I had he same problem with an expensive compressor that was down for a year, because the company would not sell the schematics to me. Somebody e-mailed me a copy, and it was back in service the next day. It's worth a try...

Thanks for the replies. The gear is not really worth fixing except for the fact that I enjoy the challenge. It's a car radio (CD MP3 etc.)

I'll try to analyze the circuit as best I can and see what happens.

Thanks again
