This should be an easy one.

I've got this Flos Toio that my mother owned. It puts out a gazillion lumen. It's made with a 240V input, a big old transformer that puts out 125V and 300W for a PAR56 lamp.

If I were to put a dimmer somewhere to make the light reasonably usable, where should I put it? After the trafo in series with the lamp? Or before? Or nowhere and keep it like that?

Thanks.

I've got the same lamp. I just use a 230volt 300 watt par56 bulb on the 120v line.
The light emitted is perfect and the transformer runs cool.

you have to put the dimmer post transformer, if you have the original transformer model. In the EU the transformer drops 230v to 120v and powers a 120v bulb.

Todays model, LED, has no transformer, its just a block for show.
