sweet - thats a great looking article! I have been eeking my way with my limited scope knowledge - this is gonna be a huge help to get the rest of the way there!

First off, thanks for reposting an awesome article. For those of us who have more experience with childhood milk-carton periscopes than pro audio oscilliscopes, this article seems to be a must-read! :thumb:

Does anyone know how good software scopes are? With all the tools I'm needing to get for upcoming projects, I'd be happy to save some hundreds by using a software-based scope. And if they're just as good or... dare I say... better, then it's a win/win situation for me. :green:

I'm on a mac, but I do have a PC here too. However, if audio input is any factor (I can imagine its crucial), the mac has a real DAC and the PC just has whatever stock part.

Any suggestions for software? Or thoughts on the merits of software vs. hardware scopes?

do we have a Scope thread in the META?

i need to get one, what Mhz should i get min, dual or single channel, ect?

is it possible to get one around 50-150 with probes? is it a must have device? just for troubleshooting or is it much needed?

thanks for the pdf.
