Fostex A-8

Hi

I have just got my hands on Fostex A-8 series 8 track.

Does anybody have a manual, service manual, schematics or at least know what the NR and EDIT button does.

the NR button switches the dolby noise reduction on or off. leave it on. the edit button allows you to spool the tape out, if you wanna edit (cut) it. i have a manual but its not in my possesion at the moment, its with my a8 which someone else as borrowed for a while. i'd be happy to answer any questions you might have, but really its a pretty simple machine and you should be able to work it all out just by playing with it for a while.

What function does the 2 buttons at the heads have.
If you push the first one I can see it covers the tonehead.

From memory one raises the anti-feedeback gate and the other is the tape lifter. It's been a while though...
