I picked up a little box of little transformers last week. Mostly I wanted one Thordarson mic input that I think might be useful. But also in there were some UTC SSO 27P which are 4k:600R with 2.5mA unbalanced dc in the primary frequency response 300-20k. And a few even smaller ADC 10k:10k and 20k:600 with similar frequency response. Anything they are useful for? There were also a few 250 mH chokes that can take 200mA dc and a bunch of microtran toroid chokes of the same value. Anything?

what do the sso things look like-if square cans, they might be good for fairchild 670 line out to control amp in-which is probably THE most difficult vintage transformer to find in the world right now. The S 217 D is a cub scout meeting next to that p/n.

Yes, they are little can like things. They can be seen on page 16 of the 1970 UTC catalog that is available here and there online.

Looking through the box further there are a lot of little ADC canned trannies that are rated for 1mw and a couple of bigger ADC open frame ones, a vertical output transformer that is rated 18K gapped 10:1 ratio, some Thordarson driver transformers, a few line to speaker types, a handful of molded Collins inductors. And of course a few of the inevitable completely unknown and unidentifiable types. Also some very cool western electric 9 pin tube sockets and another box of 9 pins and a bunch of wafer switch parts.

I guess I might be able to find something useful out of the whole bunch of stuff.

You should get rid of them immediately due to, ummm, the potential for exposure to, umm, Lead (yea, that's it Lead). Send them all to me for immediate disposal!

really man, put a signal generator and a pot (in series) on one side, and a pot (shunting) and a scope on the other side. Thants´all you need to test a transformer for audio. I´ve found very strange units to work beaultifully regardless of specs written. A inductance bridge might also help to figure things out. Some shity transformers works wonder if driven from a very low impedance.
