OK....I have read the big thread, posted to it and tried various things and I still cannot figure out what to do next.

I have a 1176 I am working on that seems to be doing quite well except when I try to switch the meter. I put on a push button switch so it is not quite like the PDF guide. Anyway, the meter will jump and then stay at that point when I switch. I don't have it calibrated so I am not sure if that will make a difference.

My voltages looks fine around the GR Control Amp transistors and they look ok:

Q12:
E: 15.14
B: 4.59
C: 4.06

Q13:
E: 30.53
B: 15.15
C: 14.57

Q14:
E: 16.95
B: 3.54
C: 3.00

Q15:
E: 16.43
B: 16.93
C: 30.51

The only one that is more off as compared to the schematic is Q15 but I figure this is ok. In the schematic it is: E: 16.72 B: 17.25 C: 30.3. That is not that far off so I figure ok....

SO I decided to take DCV at points 7, 20, 21 with no signal. I came up with these:

POINT 7

4: -0.497
8: -1.863
12: -2.024
20: -2.721

POINT 20

4: -10.11
8: -6.21
12: -5.76
20: -3.75

POINT 21

4: -0.605
8: -2.545
12: -2.772
20: -3.741

I have checked the Ratio Switch board which I am using to connect to my push button and it looks fine. No solder bridges or wrong components.

Note, I wired the switch exactly like this picture (picture was updated to the text below it):

Something tells me that my problem is at the switch....

I need some help cause this bad boy is driving me nuts! I want it done already :)

Thanks,

Fancy a Curry? -I'll fix it if you do!

The switch does indeed make the meter jump when you're in GR... but if there's a wiring problem at the ratio switch, it can and will make things a pain in the butt...

Dang it! I have been fancying curry for months! I have not had a chance or a curry partner to go with in ages. I would say yes to the curry offer but, unfortunately, I am not in VA. Arrgh....If I need to I will come down! I need a curry and a 1176 fix.

Nonetheless, I don't think it was faulty switch wiring. I went ahead and took off the push button switch and put in the lorlin rotary switch just to make sure and I am getting the same issues.

Any ideas of where to look now?

Thanks,
Michael
