Thanks for the tip, Rob.
It is a good time for this to happen - I have some cables to make up.
Cheers!

Also the Canford bargains page has a few nice things (look down the bottom of the page)
http://www.canford.co.uk/specialoffers.aspx

23-913 BBC TRANSFORMER LL/228-2PE for £5
23-503 CANFORD MIC AMP TRANSFORMER for £7.50 (17.6v-0-17.6v AND 44.4V toroidal)

Thanks Rob,

Is the six conductor cable ok for the G7 ?
Which ones have to be tied together then ?

I'm sorry if this question was answered before.

Six is fine....the heater and high voltage grounds are connected inside the mic so thse can both use the same wire. Or use the screen as oV (or both)

1 Audio +
2 audio -,
3 heater +5V,
4 Heater 0V
5 +160V,
6 pattern,
7 (screen can be 0V too.)

One other thing -

If your after some 7 pin XLR chassis & line sockets/plugs & you don`t want to spend a fortune on Neutriks look in the CPC catalogue page 310

part nos
CN05712
CN05713
CN05714
CN05715

They are not in the Neutrik league quality wise, but nor is the price since none of them costs more than £2

I bought my 7pin XLR's from
www.hinkel-electronic.de

They're cheap. But rather cheapish quality too.
One of them got stuck the first time I used it,
after applying some (brutal) force to it, it totally came apart.
