i've just completed a G7 build but constructed the psu to be a dual power supply. i've not settled on what B+ voltages i'll be using. i like a G7 at a lower B+ than 160 so i'm going to try to find two B+ voltages that compliment both circuits so i can use either mic with either "branch" of the psu depeding on the application. i have a question about how to hook up the mic cable for use with the royer mod. the cable must be a 7 pin xlr out from the psu to a 5 pin xlr at the microphone.my plan is to connect the cable wires from pin1(0V ground) and pin 7(heater ground) of the psu to pin #3 (common) at the microphone, 5 pin xlr. any problem with this? Also is it ok to ignore pin number 5 (pattern) at the psu and leave it disconnected in the cable? This was my plan but i was curious to know if i'm missing something that would make this a poor method of achieving my goal?
