From what little research I've done, the MXL 2003 (the original, not the newer 2003A) uses a derivative of the common Schoeps circuit used in dozens of mics by MXL (990, 603s, v63m, v57, etc.), CAD, Nady, etc. However, it looks like the circuit board is laid out differently and the caps are labeled differently than those other mics. So my question is this: if I want to do the "Gus mod" (replacing caps C13, C3, & C4) on the 2003, which caps on the 2003 correspond to caps C3 & C4? It looks like C10 corresponds to C13, but I'm unsure of C3 & C4. I see a C8 and an unmarked cap opposite to it that appear to use ceramics, but then there are also caps labeled C3 & C4 in the 2003 that look to use polypropylene caps.
