Hi all, I am finishing up my Hairball FET/Rack Rev A build and noticed the output transformer has some delamination on one side. It also looks janky and not nice and bundled up like the one in the build guide. The delam is only on one side and only the top layer. Looks like it won’t go any further since some tape is holding it at its current position.

Real question is, does this affect performance at all?

Thanks!

Send a message to Mike at Hairball.

Educated guess is it will work fine. It does have the potential to vibrate or hum.

if it was me, I would have redipped the transformer and replaced the tape.

Not sure why the transformer has those metal bits at the top , Doesnt look like any of the laminations themselves are affected .
Looks like regular cellophane tape was used so just use the same again. Scrape away the old tape and residue first .
You definately wouldnt want a chunk of metal like that floating around inside the enclosure , could do a lot of damage .
