Does anyone know the mounting hole positions on a half eurocard?  I found the hole positions on a whole eurocard, but half cards... I don't know.  Attached is the document I found on full eurocards.

I'm note sure half card is a standard? 80x100?

But your document say the front hole are 3.57 from the front and 5.55 from the side
So just do the same ?

I think half Eurocard is something recognised by PCB layout designers but I think it is not part of the spec. The spec has 3U height cards that are 160, 220 and I think 270mm deep by 100mm high and then 6U height cards (233.4mm high) by the same depths. Certainly all the sub-rack manufacturers start at 160mm deep.

In general, the front holes of the PCB are dimensioned from the front of the PCB and the rear connector mounting holes are dimensioned from the rear of the PCB. I suggest you do the same but just change the depth to 80mm.

Thanks both of you.

I could not find the actual standard, this is just a subrack maker's spec.

And Ian I suspect you are right, half eurocard is not a real spec'd size.  There are some PCB fabs that like to work in that size, and eagle like to work in Euro card sizes (the free one does).  So I thought I would try to comply if there was a spec.

Thanks.

I have NO idea where I found the (attached) file which I have stored on my hard drive, but perhaps it might explain some dimensions.

Thanks! Very helpful to me.

Seems to say that 80mm depth and even 100mm depth are possible under the standared, and confirms the front hole dimensions are distance from the edge.  I don't think it mentions the back holes.

I have been looking at this in more detail. I have examined the standard sub-rack side panels made by SRS in the UK and Schroff in Germany. Both of them allow the rear mounting rails to be moved inwards in 30mm increments. This means you could accommodate PCBs that are 130 or 100mm deep simply by repositioning the rear rails of the sub-rack.

Cheers

Ian
