Hi folks, I am searching knobs again. This time for an older Alps fader. Size is 22x16mm.  Please see the attachment for more details.
I can not find knobs for this kind of shaft and I  don´t know the name for it.

Any ideas? Where can I buy them?

Thank you!

Isn't that a (standard) 4mm shaft where you can find tons of knobs for on evilbay ?:

Unfortunately, not. The part where the finger goes in juts into the mixer. (hope that makes sense ) There is not enough flesh for the ordinary 4mm shaft knob, the finger of the fader is too short for a stable mechanical linkage.

Are you sure you want them?? I have them on my 6000 and they are very large and uncomfortable

It's an 8mm shaft isn't it?

No, these are different.  The shaft is 4,2mm x 1,5mm, the "finger" of the fader is conical and at the top 3,5mm x 1,2mm.

These fader knobs are from Yamaha RM 804 / 1608 / 2408 mixers.

Thanks for your respone!

Hi folks, I am searching knobs again.
These original Yamaha part numbers may help you. These pictured, are for the Yamaha MC 2404 series boards, from the '80's. I still have three of these damn boards, for some silly reason.

If you like, I can dimension them out for you, to make sure they really are what you are after.

Did you already ask Yamaha?

Yes, my request is pending. Yamaha gives good service even for old equipment. They searched their paper archives for me and scanned the schematics for the RM804 by hand.  That is very rare these days...

Thanks Gene! That helps a lot! It seems that the MC series uses the same knobs. Cheers Thorsten

Got another number for you.

I forgot all about that box of yammi stuff that I got on ebay 10+ years ago, until your post. Went through it today. Lotta stuff.

20) 25KA, and 6) 10KA stereo Alps faders.
26) rubber stick-on dust shields.

And of possible interest to you:
2 red, 4 white, and 23 black new fader caps,

And what looks to be all the knobs from 4 channels, including 4 more black faders, all used and a bit grungy.

If no love from Yamaha, PM me.

Gene
