Dirty tube sockets, or sockets that aren't making contact with the tube pins can cause this. I agree with Noisy, I would double check the screen grids. I've seen resistors do weird things when they start to fail, but haven't completely failed and this could be one of them.It is always good practice as a tech, to hunt down the root cause of a particular issue. Just replacing parts, even tubes, can risk the problem returning, and costing the customer time and money.
