Sorry, I perhaps should have said in anti-parallel, or inverse parallel, where two 470uF parts would give 940uF. In my defense I did originally say parallel, which does give a sum result as I stated. Here are some other sites referring to polarized anti-paralleled parts as wired back-to-back:
