Yes. Analog board is dead. Their support stop responding after I've asked them to identify this part. Mouser has no clue about it.
Still waiting for STmicroelectronics to respond. Reason I've narrowed my troubleshooting was this thread over Gearslutz: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/high-end/99840-ssl-alpha-link-ax-24-channel-d-26.html
and particular post:"Instructions for power supply calibration for the SSL Alphalink.
Procedure: All possible care must be taken when working on
live electronic equipment, fatal voltage levels exist within the unit. If in any doubt
about your ability or competence to carry out the following work, please contact
your nearest SSL dealer who can arrange for the work to be undertaken by a
trained Technician.
1. Remove the lid of the unit to be adjusted.
2. Measure the DC voltage between pins 1 and 8 of device
Q8. Refer to figure 1 for
details.
3. If the voltage measured between pins 1 and 8 of device
Q8 is less than 100mV, no adjustment is necessary. Voltages of 100mV and more
indicate a necessity for adjustment.
4. To adjust the PSU locate the trim pot in the bottom
right hand corner of the PSU module, refer to figure 2 for location. Turn this trimmer
counter-clockwise until the voltage across pins 1 and 8 of device Q8 is below
100mV. Approximately a ¼ turn will be sufficient.
5. Reassemble the unit and test for correct operation"
Well my reading is 10v !!!not 100 mv so I suspect that chip is bad or could be the starting point anyway.
I don't have $750 to waste on their "replacement unit" nor $500 for the analog board itself so I'm trying to fix it myself.
Any help guys is greatly appreciated.
